The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation matters, including conducting research, drafting documents, organizing files, and preparing for trials. This role requires a high level of discretion and professionalism due to the sensitive nature of the cases involved.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal support to attorneys, including assisting with case management, trial preparation, and legal research.
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests, ensuring all documents are accurately completed and filed on time.
- Conduct thorough and detailed case research and analysis, utilizing various resources and legal databases.
- Coordinate and manage timelines and deadlines to ensure all legal processes are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain and organize case files, ensuring all important information is readily accessible and secure.
- Prepare for and attend trials, assisting attorneys during proceedings as necessary.
- Liaise with clients, witnesses, and other law firms professionally, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Stay updated on current laws and regulations related to sexual crime, violent crime, abuse, personal injury, and medical malpractice.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 years of experience as a Paralegal, preferably within the litigation sector.
- A degree in Law or Paralegal Studies from an accredited institution.
- Extensive experience in dealing with cases related to sexual crime, violent crime, abuse, personal injury (PI), and medical malpractice.
- Proficiency in using legal research databases and software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, attorneys, and court personnel.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- A strong commitment to ethics and professionalism in the legal field.
- A proactive approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
