Job Details
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join our team.
The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in representing homeowner and condominium associations in deed restriction enforcement cases and handling vendor breach of contract disputes.
The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, be skilled in case management, legal research, and communication, and possess a strong understanding of litigation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all aspects of litigation, including preparation and filing of pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
- Conduct detailed legal research related to deed restrictions, vendor contracts, and Florida property laws.
- Draft correspondence, discovery requests/responses, and case summaries.
- Manage case files, including maintaining electronic and physical records, calendaring deadlines, and ensuring timely filings.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, vendors, and court personnel.
- Assist with preparing for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, including organizing exhibits and trial binders.
- Review and summarize contracts, meeting minutes, and association governing documents.
- Support attorneys in investigating claims, gathering evidence, and conducting witness interviews.
- Coordinate communication between associations, boards of directors, and management companies regarding litigation matters.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in property law or contract law.
- Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited institution preferred.
- Proficiency in legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and case management software.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Florida Rules of Civil Procedure and local court systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a legal team.
- Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
- Experience working with homeowner and condominium associations.
- Knowledge of Florida Statutes Chapters 718, 720, and 617.
- Familiarity with contract law and vendor dispute resolution.
