We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Litigation Paralegal to join our high-performing legal team. This role will provide critical litigation support to the senior litigation attorneys, ensuring the smooth running of our legal operations. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth and development in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough and detailed legal research to support case preparation and strategy development.
2. Manage and organize large volumes of complex documents, including the preparation and filing of legal documents.
3. Provide litigation support during trials by preparing trial binders, exhibits, and evidence.
4. Maintain comprehensive case management systems to track case progress and ensure all deadlines are met.
5. Assist in trial preparation activities including witness preparation, deposition summaries, and jury instructions.
6. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents with precision and accuracy.
7. Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and other involved parties to ensure smooth progression of cases.
8. Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and industry practices that may impact ongoing cases.
Qualifications:
1. Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Law, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree will be considered an asset.
2. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department.
3. Proficiency in legal research tools and databases, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
4. Extensive experience in legal document preparation, litigation support, case management, trial preparation, drafting pleadings, and handling legal documentation.
5. Strong understanding of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
6. Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff, attorneys, and clients.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook.
9. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
10. Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
