We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Litigation Paralegal to join our high-performing legal team. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in litigation and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Your role will be instrumental in supporting our attorneys in the preparation, filing, and management of various legal actions.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
2. Collect, analyze, and summarize medical records and other evidence pertinent to our cases.
3. Conduct complex legal research and factual investigation.
4. Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents.
5. Coordinate with expert witnesses and manage all aspects of their involvement in a case.
6. Maintain case management system and ensure information is updated and accurate.
7. Prepare for trials, depositions, and hearings, taking notes, and providing attorneys with necessary assistance.
8. Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders to coordinate information exchange, meetings, and scheduling details.
9. Maintain strict confidentiality of all client information, firm communications, and legal materials.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal with strong defense civil litigation/insurance defense experience
2. Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited program is preferred but not required
3. Proven experience in summarizing and analyzing medical records.
4. Proficiency in legal research software and MS Office Suite.
5. Strong understanding of legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
7. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple cases and tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
8. High degree of professional ethics, integrity, and confidentiality.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
