Job Details
We are seeking a skilled Business Litigation Paralegal to join our team.
The ideal candidate will support our attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, from case inception through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and initial case assessments for business litigation matters
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents for court filing
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Assist with trial preparation, including voir dire and witness preparation
- Manage case files and maintain accurate records
- Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and third parties
- Prepare and respond to discovery requests
- Create and maintain case chronologies
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or related field; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3-5 years of experience in business or commercial litigation
- Strong knowledge of Florida state and federal court procedures
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw
- Experience with document management software (e.g., Relativity, iManage)
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Skills:
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Experience with e-filing systems
