Ultimate Staffing is recruiting a Temp-to-Hire Litigation Legal Secretary for a large law firm in Hartford, CT! This is a Mon-Fri 8-5pm Hybrid role, looking to pay $60-70K. Apply today!
In this role the Legal Secretary will support multiple attorneys providing a full range of support including, but not limited to, preparation/revision of correspondence, pleadings and documents, calendar maintenance/scheduling, federal and state court filings, and in-office filing and mailings. The successful candidate is a well-organized, detail-oriented team player, possessing at least 3 years of recent experience as a Legal Secretary who demonstrates a solid understanding of legal terminology and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
· At least 3 years of recent legal secretarial and/or paralegal experience in a law firm, with litigation experience required.
· Associate degree and/or paralegal certification preferred; 4-year college degree a plus.
· Previous experience with federal and state court filing requirements, including e-filing.
· Knowledge of document management, electronic calendaring and PDF software required.
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
· Highly organized and efficient with a proven ability to multitask and take direction, while independently tracking and achieving often-changing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a cooperative office environment and communicate with attorneys and support staff.
· Solid verbal and written communication skills, along with excellent proofreading skills.
Responsibilities:
· Provide support for assigned attorneys as well as backup support, as needed.
· File maintenance (paper and electronic).
· Assist with scheduling: including calendar maintenance; depositions; client/expert meetings.
· Answer phones and communicate with clients, court personnel, and vendors daily.
· Preparation/revision of correspondence, pleadings and documents.
· Perform other administrative duties, as assigned.
