Our firm is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Litigation Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to be a part of our litigation team, working closely with attorneys and paralegals to ensure the smooth operation of our legal processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in litigation, legal procedures, proofreading, drafting, revising, motions, discovery, and legal filings.
Responsibilities:
As a Litigation Legal Assistant, your day-to-day duties will include:
1. Assisting attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post-trial.
2. Coordinating the case handling with attorneys, clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.
3. Drafting, revising, and proofreading legal documents, motions, pleadings, and discovery.
4. Maintaining case documents in a highly organized and accessible manner.
5. Assisting with trial preparation including witness lists, exhibits, and trial binders.
6. Preparing and filing all court documents and having knowledge of electronic court filing procedures.
7. Conducting legal research and factual investigation as directed by attorneys.
8. Coordinating and scheduling court dates, appointments, and meetings.
9. Communicating with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel in a professional and courteous manner.
Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Litigation Legal Assistant, you should have the following:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a litigation legal assistant or similar role.
2. Proficiency in drafting, revising, and proofreading legal documents.
3. Familiarity with litigation procedures and processes.
4. Experience with motions, discovery, and legal filings.
5. Excellent organizational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. Proficiency in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
8. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
9. Strong multitasking skills and the ability to work under pressure.
10. A paralegal certification or a degree in law or related field will be highly advantageous.
