About the Job
We are working with a regional, full-service firm seeking a Litigation Legal Administrative Assistant with a minimum of three years of experience for their Hartford, CT office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and screen telephone calls, and take messages for attorneys.
- Edit, revise, and redline documents.
- Assist with document conversion and clean up.
- Profile emails and documents to iManage.
- Draft appearances/e-file same (federal/state/CHRO/FOIC).
- E-file in CT State, Federal, and Appellate Courts and the Southern District of New York.
- Short calendar markings as instructed.
- Complete intake form and draft outline of decision in specific school law matters.
- Compile binders for contract negotiations/mediations/arbitrations.
- Enter/update school law contracts and school law resources/wage and comparison reports as needed
- Profile monthly CCM Data Reporter as directed.
- Enter and edit attorney time entries.
- Submit requests for conflicts check and complete new matter reports for signature/approval.
- Prepare expense reports.
- Prepare outgoing and sort incoming mail.
- Keep all attorney client files updated and complete as well as completing all steps necessary to prepare closed files to be sent to offsite storage/archive.
Qualifications:
- Experience: A minimum of three years of experience in a legal administrative role at a law firm required.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal management software.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
