Job Details
Key Responsibilities:
Provide sophisticated legal counsel to clients in the education sector on a wide range of issues including governance, labor and employment, litigation, special education, and facilities.
Manage complex litigation matters, including case strategy, client communications, and trial preparation.
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to school district operations.
Collaborate with the firm’s partners and other attorneys to provide high-level strategic guidance.
Represent clients in administrative hearings, arbitrations, and court appearances as necessary.
Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring excellent client service and satisfaction.
Supervise and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Member in good standing with the California State Bar.
Minimum of 7-10 years of legal experience, with significant experience in education law, public agency law, or a related field.
Proven ability to manage a substantial caseload and meet billing requirements.
Exceptional legal writing, research, and communication skills.
Strong courtroom experience with a record of success in handling complex litigation.
Ability to work independently while being part of a collaborative team environment.
Commitment to maintaining a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
