Responsibilities
As a Litigation Attorney, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Handling a wide range of medical malpractice cases, from initial assessment to resolution.
2. Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
3. Conducting discovery, including deposition, interrogatories, and document production.
4. Representing clients in court, arbitration, and mediation proceedings.
5. Advising clients on the legal process and their rights and obligations.
6. Developing case strategies based on the facts of the case and the client's goals.
7. Negotiating settlements on behalf of clients in an effort to resolve the case before trial.
8. Staying updated with the latest developments in medical malpractice law and the legal industry.
9. Collaborating with colleagues to develop effective strategies for handling complex cases.
10. Maintaining high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct in the practice of law.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess the following qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Active member of the Ohio Bar in good standing.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation attorney, specifically in medical malpractice.
4. Exceptional litigation skills, with proven trial experience.
5. Strong legal research and writing skills.
6. Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
7. Ability to handle a large caseload and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines.
8. Proficient in legal research software and MS Office suite.
9. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. High level of professionalism and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
