Responsibilities
As a Permanent Litigation Attorney, you will:
1. Represent injured victims in personal injury cases, handling all aspects of plaintiff-side litigation from inception through trial.
2. Conduct thorough and detailed investigations to determine potential legal claims, evaluate the merits of potential cases, and strategize the best course of action.
3. Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
4. Conduct and defend depositions, engage in motion practice, and prepare for trial.
5. Effectively advocate for clients in the courtroom, presenting compelling arguments and evidence.
6. Manage all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
7. Negotiate and settle cases in the best interest of the client, or prepare and take them to trial if necessary.
8. Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and information about their cases.
9. Work collaboratively with the legal team to develop effective trial strategies.
10. Manage case files and documentation, ensuring all relevant information is readily accessible and organized.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the Permanent Litigation Attorney position will have:
1. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the Louisiana Bar.
3. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Plaintiff Attorney, Trial Lawyer, Plaintiff Lawyer or Litigation Lawyer, preferably in personal injury law.
4. Extensive experience in plaintiff-side litigation, including depositions, motion practice, trial preparation, and courtroom advocacy.
5. Proven track record in handling pleadings, motions, discovery, settlements, and negotiations.
6. Exceptional client communication and case management skills.
7. Strong empathy and a client-centered approach to law practice.
8. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to strategize effectively.
9. A strong commitment to the ethical practice of law.
10. Ability to work independently and in a team, managing a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines.
