We are seeking a driven and highly skilled Permanent Construction Defect Litigation Associate to join our dynamic team. This role provides an exciting opportunity to handle complex construction defect litigation matters and contribute to the success of our firm. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of experienced attorneys and will be involved in all phases of litigation, from pleadings and discovery to arguing motions, trials, and arbitration. This role requires a minimum of 2+ years of experience in the legal industry, specifically in civil litigation and construction defect litigation.
Responsibilities:
1. Manage all aspects of construction defect litigation, including drafting and responding to pleadings, handling discovery, arguing motions, and participating in trials and arbitration.
2. Conduct detailed and comprehensive legal research to support case strategies and positions.
3. Collaborate with a team of attorneys to develop effective litigation strategies.
4. Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
5. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in laws and regulations related to construction defect litigation.
6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing them with regular updates and excellent service.
7. Work closely with expert witnesses to prepare for trial or arbitration.
8. Review and analyze construction contracts and documents to identify potential defects or issues.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to practice law in the state and in good standing.
3. A minimum of 2+ years of experience in civil litigation.
4. Proficiency in drafting and arguing motions, conducting discovery, and participating in trial and arbitration.
5. Demonstrated experience in civil litigation.
6. Experience in taking and defending depositions.
7. Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
10. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented setting.
11. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
12. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office Suite.
