Litigation Associate Attorney ($80,000 - $100,000 + commissions for business development)
Long Hagan Huff-Harris is looking for an Associate with a minimum of 1 year of Probate & Family Court experience, focusing on litigation matters.
A successful Associate Attorney must communicate directly with clients on a regular basis; therefore, strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential qualities to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to weaponize knowledge rapidly to zealously represent clients. This means that the candidate must have an excellent memory and strong critical-thinking and creative problem-solving skills. The candidate must have a high degree of trustworthiness and value transparency. As a Litigation Associate, the hire must be professional with a learned effect that still exudes empathy and caring. The candidate must also have high standards for herself or himself and hold team members to the same standards. Furthermore, the ideal candidate must be a motivated self-starter with a passion for litigation.
In addition, the candidate must be technically proficient in persuasive legal writing. Superior attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, an ability to multitask, an ability to see tasks through to completion amid frequent interruptions, and an ability to work well independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
The practice of law is not a 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. profession. This position may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position. While the goal of the law firm is for everyone in the office to have a work-life balance, there are times when long hours, late nights, and weekends are required to get the job done for the client at the level expected by the firm.

Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills – A welcoming and polite demeanor is essential to success in this position. Additionally, clients expect prompt responses and follow up to all correspondence, whether it is by phone or email. It is critical for the Litigation Associate to remain composed even if the client expresses frustration.
- Superior attention to detail – Precision in work, ability to identify and correct minute errors, and consistency in this work is essential to the Associate Attorney position. In addition, the ability to switch gears with shifting priorities is critical. Given all the moving parts and daily interruptions, it is critical that the Associate Attorney can shift his or her attention while still being detail-oriented and focused on quality.
- Organized and systematic - In an environment with lots of moving pieces, systems are essential, and the ideal candidate would have a firm grasp on the importance of organization and following processes to ensure follow-through. Additionally, the Associate Attorney must have an excellent ability to manage multiple on-going projects at various stages of workflow, so superior time-management skills are essential. Further, the ideal candidate must thrive in a high-pressure environment.

- Comfort in managing up – In the fast-paced environment of the law firm, the Associate Attorney must manage his or her supervisor to streamline processes and meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Additional Experience – Experience in Litigation is a plus.
- Must be a licensed Massachusetts attorney in good standing with a minimum of one year of litigation experience.
