Linux Systems Administrator (Active TS/SCI Full Scope Polygraph Clearance Required)

Full-time, 5-days/week Onsite at Ft. Meade, MD

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and TS/SCI Full-Scope Poly cleared Systems Administrator to join our client's Enterprise HPC Infrastructure support team that is a part of a federal/Intelligence community program/contract. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with CentOS/RHEL, VMware Horizon, and secure DNS, along with a strong background in systems monitoring and data processing.

This role requires an individual who is proficient in using tools such as Nagios, Grafana, and Splunk, and possesses basic command-line scripting abilities. Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) principles is a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support foundational aspects of the enterprise's HPC infrastructure and user-facing services using Linux desktop operating systems.
• Conduct regular system maintenance checks.
• Perform hardware and software installations.
• Assist in troubleshooting software, hardware, and peripheral issues using the ServiceNow ticketing system.
• Document standard operating procedures and assist higher-level administrators with larger projects.
• Conduct regular security patching, assessments, and scans on Linux operating systems using tools like Tenable Nessus.
• Manage user home directories, accounts, and groups using Active Directory and Centrify.
• Utilize LDAP for advanced directory service operations.
• Collaborate with network, storage, server, and security operations teams.
• Implement standard security mitigation techniques.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in help desk, account management, desktop system administration, or a related area.
• Experience with CentOS/RHEL, VMware Horizon, and secure DNS.
• Familiarity with systems monitoring tools such as Nagios and Grafana, data processing using Splunk, and basic command-line scripting.
• Knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) principles is a plus.
• Must hold an Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) Full Scope Polygraph Clearance.
• Must have Linux systems experience.
• Must work onsite 5 days a week at Ft. Meade, MD.

Degree Requirements:

• Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Degree can be substituted with an additional year of relevant experience.

Certification Requirements:

• CompTIA Security+ CE (required)
