RMC is hiring for a Linux System Administrator who will provide Linux based workstation and server support to an RDT&E environment at Webster Field, MD.
The selected applicant will perform a variety of information technology/infrastructure activities, as well as IT inventory management.
The selected candidate will need the following skillsets:
- Strong understanding of virtual and physical networking configuration.
- Strong hardware, software, and network troubleshooting skill sets.
- RedHat 7, or higher, Enterprise administration, including workstation and server.
- ACAS/Nessus experience or similar vulnerability scanner familiarity.
- Experience using distributed file systems.
- Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in providing tier 1 – tier 3 support to niche SME end users.
- Applicant must be a self-starter with a positive attitude and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Occasional travel is required.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED and five (5) years of relevant experience in system administration of LAN/WAN systems, systems maintenance, and systems monitoring/reporting are required.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field is highly desired.
- An active Top Secret security clearance is required to start.
- Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
- Must have DoD 8570/DoN 5239 IAT Level II certification (Security + CE).
Desired Skills for the Selected Applicant are:
- Experience with Bash and/ or Perl scripting.
- Understanding of DISA STIG guidance and RMF requirements.

**Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $90,000 to $140,000 (annually).
