Established in 1975 Suntree Country Club is a private, member-owned country club built exclusively for the enjoyment, relaxation, and fellowship of its members, their families, and their guests. The beautifully landscaped estate offers 36 holes of championship golf and a state-of-the-art short-game practice facility. Members enjoy a 13-court racquet complex that includes pickleball and a beautiful pool with a poolside bar. Foodservice is handled through 2 large, multi-function clubhouses, multiple kitchens, bars, private meeting rooms, and exercise facilities.
Job Summary:
Suntree Country Club is seeking an experienced chef-minded Line Cook to work alongside the Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, and Sous Chef to create the best dining experience for our Members and guests. Our Cooks are essential to ensuring menu items are cooked, plated, and presented according to menu specifications. The ideal candidate must have the drive and passion to become a CHEF!
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Communicate with the Chef and other staff with needed equipment and supplies.
- Be dependable, arrive on time, and be ready to work.
- Set up, maintain, and break down workstations.
- Uses food preparation equipment accordingly.
- Ensure workstations and equipment are clean and sanitary.
- Maintain cleanliness and comply with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Proper breakdown & cleaning of the assigned stations after every shift: counters, shelves, trash, and floors.
- Must be able to identify different types of foods and chemicals.
- Must have proper knife skills and be able to produce food properly.
- Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
- Organize station, coolers/freezers, and check dates.
- Check BEOs for daily functions.
- Preparation for daily and upcoming banquets/events.
- Assist dishwasher as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:

- Basic understanding of or the ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for workplace safety.

Education and Experience:
- Previous experience as a restaurant Cook - at least 1 year.
- High school or vocational school coursework in kitchen basics such as food safety, is preferred.
- Culinary school education is a plus.
- Food Handler Certification is a plus.
- Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

- Prolonged periods of standing and working in a kitchen.
- Exposure to extreme heat, steam, and cold present in a kitchen environment.
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to work late nights and unpredictable hours.
- Manual dexterity to cut and chop foods and perform other related tasks.
- Must be able to work at your assigned station daily & rapidly during rush hours.
