Cook Job Description:
Our Cheat's family is growing and we are looking to fill vacancies in our kitchen with someone who is able to contribute to the overall excellence of our restaurant.
The person we are hoping to employ is hospitable, organized, hard working and coachable. We are looking for a team player who can help us provide our customers with delicious food from our menu. In addition to great communication and organizational skills, a positive attitude is paramount.
A good candidate for this job is a person with attention to detail who works well with others, the rest we can teach you! No prior kitchen experience is required but it does help. We pride ourselves in our exceptional service and a positive work environment.
- Evening and weekend availability is a must!!!
Responsibilities of a Cook:
- Maintaining a sanitized and well-organized kitchen.
- Preparing workstations for cooking.
- Preparing and maintaining kitchen equipment.
- Checking the quality of the ingredients.
- Preparing cooking ingredients using various techniques.
- Cooking food using various culinary techniques.
- Arranging food and ensuring appealing presentation.
Cook Job Requirements:
- Prior experience as a cook is preferable but NOT necessary. We will train you on the Line Cook Position! Our small menu allows for one style of cooking on the flat top and is picked up easily.
- Must exemplify great attendance (showing up to work on time)
- Must follow sanitation procedures.
- Must showcase teamwork and communication skills.
- Must showcase great organizational skills.
- Must be able to multitask and act quickly.
- Must be able to stand on feet for 6-8 hours
Launched in November 2020, Cheat's Cheesesteak was founded with one goal in mind: take a fine dining approach to fast casual food, focusing on high quality ingredients and proper preparation techniques. Founded by Partners Ryan Hart, Greg Balch and Hannah Smith, Cheat’s Cheesesteak started as a 3-Person Pop-Up event. After a year and a half of pop ups, Cheat’s Cheesesteak Parlor finally opened its first brick and mortar location in Spring, 2022.
With two locations in Plaza Midwood and Southend, Cheat’s focuses on take out and delivery, with minimal on site dining options. Cheat’s sources bread from Liscio’s Bakery and cooks and slices Certified Angus Beef Ribeye in-house. Cheat’s is proud to execute a small menu, done right.
