Job Summary:
The Line Cook prepares and cooks food items according to established recipes and standards. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation:
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring as needed.
- Follow recipes and presentation specifications for all menu items.
2. Cooking:
- Utilize printed Order Ticket when starting preparations
- Cook food items on the line efficiently and according to order specifications.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
3. Quality Control:
- Monitor food quality and presentation, ensuring consistency and adherence to restaurant standards.
4. Cleanliness and Safety:
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Follow health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and storage practices.
5. Collaboration:
- Work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff regarding orders and special requests.
6. Inventory Management:
- Assist in managing inventory, including receiving and storing supplies.
- Notify the owner of low stock levels or equipment issues.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willing to take initiative.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 pounds.
- Capable of working in a hot, noisy environment.
Schedule:
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
