Come work with the products department responsible for product development. Be a part of the team that takes ideas all the way from research and development, to drafting, to filing, to implementation and testing, and finally to production. We work with every department in the company; Underwriting; Claims; Legal; Compliance; IT; Finance; Project Management; Actuary; Processing; Training; Sales; and Customer Service. We have recently completed a revision of our product suite and are looking to branch out into new proprietary products for our centers of excellence, while maintaining our recent improvements. Our supervisors take pride in providing an excellent balance of autonomy and support, to allow people to do their job, but provide training and assistance to relieve uncertainty. What you’ll be doing:
Assist in the development of new products and upgrade and maintain existing products and recommend changes as appropriate. Draft basic coverage forms and develop supporting documentation for review and implementation. Research competitors' product filings and market/financial data. Ensure compliance with regulatory and technical product requirements is met. Implement changes to process or system support to maintain compliance. Assist in areas of market conduct that relate to product rate, form, and rule filings for assigned lines. Maintain and disseminate information on compliance issues. Assist in maintaining a key competitor library.
**This is a hybrid position that requires 2 days per week in the office and can be based in either of our five locations:
1) Milwaukee, WI2) Madison, WI3) Merrill, WI 4) Greenwood Village, CO5) Mechanicsburg, PA

On any given day, you’ll:
I. Recognize trends in key industry, economic, competitive, and compliance conditions and assist in product development process with the upgrade and maintenance of existing products and the development of new products. Recommend changes as appropriate. Draft basic coverage forms and develop supporting documentation needed for implementation.
II. Research competitors' product filings and market/financial data. Create for review competitor product comparisons with analysis of forms as well as pricing, rates, and rules comparisons. Assist in maintaining competitor library.
III. Ensure compliance with regulatory and technical product requirements is met and company products being delivered to the customer are correct. Implement changes in process or system support to maintain compliance when required.
IV. Assist in areas of market conduct that relate to product rate, form, and rule filings for assigned lines of insurance and states.
V. Communicate and maintain information on product and compliance issues.
VI. With support from senior product analysts and product consultants, act as technical consultant to all departments for assigned lines and states.
VII. Develop working relationships with boards, bureaus and trade organizations.
VIII. Participate in special project work as directed.
IX. Peer review of department work product. May train new employees in unit on standard work processes.
Here’s what we expect
1. Prior Experience:
• Understanding of commercial property and casualty coverages required.• Understanding of forms, rules, and rates associated with a property and casualty policy required.
2. Education:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Equivalent industry experience may be considered.• Related industry course work a plus.
3. Necessary Knowledge and Abilities:
• Ability to develop a working technical knowledge of commercial insurance forms, rates, and rules.• Ability to understand the state and federal regulatory environment.• Above-average communication skills.• Ability to stay organized and work toward achieving established deadlines.• Understanding, or ability to learn, Church Mutual line of insurance procedures, processes, and product lifecycle management.• Ability to learn when bureau, insurance department, rating service organization, or other requirements will impact Church Mutual.• Sound judgment and decision making.• Ability to act independently but also recognize when independent action is not appropriate.• Ability to gain an understanding of Church Mutual's mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives.• Analytical and goal driven.
