Overview
A Snapshot of Your Day
Working within Bio-Rad's R&D organization as a Engineer II you’ll take engineering concepts and requirements and transform them into functional prototype and finished product that improve healthcare outcomes for people around the world. Leveraging your knowledge of engineering principles and best practices, you’ll develop a systems-level approach to defining concepts, designing, and testing product hardware and solutions that meet our customers’ needs. You'll also collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists, providing your technical knowledge and insights to ensure our products deliver the highest levels of quality and functionality.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Formulating of product requirements, their analysis and design of new solutions
- Development planning and design of mechanical equipment and plastic products
- Creating appropriate project and verification documentation
- Verifying progress of work by building prototypes, planning and conducting experiments and reporting results
- Cooperation with the technical workshop and external partners in the execution of commissioned work
- Transferring technology from R&D to the production
- Mentoring and supporting junior engineers (including leading the team) in their tasks
- Active collaboration within mechanical engineering, software, biochemistry and external partners on ongoing work
What You Bring

- Higher education in the field of engineering (degree in technical or production management/engineering will be an important asset).
- Min. 5 years of professional experience.
- Independence and responsibility in assigned work and giving goals.
- Knowledge of the English language to independently conduct work (design, documentation) in this language.
- Good knowledge of CAD tools necessary to carry out the work, SolidWorks will be an asset.
