Job Posting: Line Cook – Hospital Food Services

Location: Clinton, Maryland
Pay: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Line Cook to join our hospital food services team in Clinton, Maryland. As a Line Cook, you will prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, and visitors while adhering to hospital dietary guidelines and health standards. This role requires attention to detail, time management, and a commitment to food safety and sanitation.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Prepare and cook meals following standardized recipes, portion controls, and dietary requirements.

·        Ensure meals meet dietary restrictions, allergies, and nutritional needs of patients.

·        Maintain high food quality, including proper seasoning, presentation, and temperature.

·        Set up and stock workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment.

·        Safely operate and maintain kitchen equipment, such as ovens, grills, and fryers.

·        Monitor food inventory and report supply needs to supervisors.

·        Adhere to hospital and state regulations for food handling, preparation, and storage.

·        Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, and utensils during and after shifts.

·        Follow hospital infection control protocols to ensure safety for patients and staff.

·        Work closely with dietary staff, including dietitians, to meet specific meal requirements.

·        Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.

·        Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations.

 

Qualifications:

·        High school diploma or equivalent required; culinary training or certification is a plus.

·        Proven experience as a line cook, preferably in healthcare, institutional, or high-volume settings.

·        Knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen safety standards.

·        Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

·        Physical capability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot environment.

Pay Details: $20.00 per hour
