We are currently looking for an experienced line Cook to join our Culinary Department. The Cook is responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, guests, and team members. The line cook is also responsible for adhering to DV policies, and all food safety and sanitation requirements while maintaining a safe and orderly kitchen.

We are currently looking for an experienced line Cook to join our Culinary Department. The Cook is responsible for preparing delicious and nutritious meals for our residents, guests, and team members. The line cook is also responsible for adhering to DV policies, and all food safety and sanitation requirements while maintaining a safe and orderly kitchen.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare meals for residents and their guests in a timely and consistent manner.
- Cook and assemble meals according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Experienced in all culinary techniques. (Butchering, Sautéing, Brazing & knowledge of Sauces).
- Collaborate with culinary staff, nutritionists, and healthcare professionals to accommodate special dietary needs, allergies, and food intolerances of residents.
- Prepares required dietary modifications as ordered.
- Order and inventory food and supplies, monitoring stock levels and rotation to minimize waste.
- Assist with menu creation, recipe tasting, and special event planning.
- Ensure the work environment and stations are clean and sanitized.
- Inspect food products and supplies as needed.
- Determine food and supply needs based on menu and dietary needs.
- Communicate changes or shortages quickly and effectively.
- Stocks rotates, dates, and stores products according to food safety standards and regulations.
- Responsibilities include customer service, inventory, food safety, and communication.
Education/Experience/Licensure/Requirements:
- Proficient in English.
- One (1) year job related experience including food preparation in a restaurant, hotel, or other similar environment.
- High School Diploma/GED.
- ServSafe® Manager Certificate.
- Local Health Department Food Handler Card.
- Written and verbal skills for effective communication.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrates good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance per Dominican Village policy.
Job Types: Full-time.
Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 hourly.
Standard Shift: Mon. Wed. Thu. Fri & Sat.
Time: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
