Summary responsible for the accurately and efficient preparation and cooking of foods as instructed by the Executive Chef in accordance with high defined standards and quality set by the restaurant, following current health safety and hygiene highest levels.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Set-up the hot line and maintain it clean, sanitary and organized throughout the lunch and dinner shifts
Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to assure a smooth service period
Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set-up for all dishes
Handles, stores and rotates all food products properly
Preps and cooks lunch and dinner shifts
Breaks down and clean entire hot line stations at the end of every shift
Butchery fish, meat, poultry as specify by Executive Chef
Proficient in prepping and cooking high volume banquets
Operating, cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment
Knowledge and preparation of over twenty soups recipes
Excellent multitasker
Food tickets are complete and out in a timely manner
Notifies the Executive Chef or Sous Chef in advance of all expected shortages
Properly stores all foods, which must be covered, dated and rotated on a daily basis to ensure proper portion control and quality
Assists receiving of products and storage

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Language Skills
Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
