Position Summary
Supervise all aspects of the implementation and safe installation of theatrical lighting and projection plots for all Iris Cantor Theatre (ICT) events; create and evaluate lighting designs and provide design assistance as needed. Oversee inventory, tracking, and maintenance of theatre lighting and projection equipment; supervise and demonstrate process to technical staff as well as student and freelance technicians. Oversee staff and manage the assigned budget. Research and recommend equipment purchases and upgrades based on changing trends in profession. May function as fireguard.Qualifications
Required Education:Bachelor's Degree Technical TheaterPreferred Education:Bachelor's Degree concentration in Technical Theater/ProductionRequired Experience:3+ years technical/supervisory experience in lighting and projection design and installation. Experience including the operation and maintenance of mechanical rigging systems.Preferred Experience:3+ years operation and maintenance of mechanical rigging systems, trap rooms and theater systemsRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Knowledge of and ability to operate mechanical rigging systems, aerial lifts, etc. Must have knowledge in the maintenance and operation of dimming systems and ability to serve as a technical resource for clients. Strong organizational and drafting and skills Knowledge of OSHA/NIOSH health and safety standards. Ability to work evenings/weekends, depending on production schedule. Experienced use of VectorWorks, AutoCAD and/or Lightwrite.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Familiarity with aspects of professional New York theatre. Knowledge of Theatrical rigging systems, including counterweight systems and mechanical rigging systems. In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $74,520.00 to USD $91,080.00. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
