Volt is hiring for a Lighting Grip Operator in Durham, NC.
As a Lighting Grip Operator you will:
Assemble, hang and focus the lighting fixtures and related equipment, including power and DMX cables.
• Unboxing, assembling, and lamping studio lighting fixtures
• Navigate a personnel lift or ladder to access ceiling grid
• Attach infrastructure, poles and clamps to a lighting grid
• Hang new lighting fixtures on the grid, attaching safety cables
• Run electrical and DMX cables to existing electrical outlets
• Focus light fixtures on specific areas and talent at the direction of a lighting director
• Box and pack unused lighting fixtures for shipment
• Remove Ram board flooring cover once project is complete
• Will be required to lift lighting fixtures overhead that weigh up to 30 lbs and move boxes on/off a truck that weigh up to 40 lbs.
This is a short-term contract opportunity from 1/6-1/16 in Durham, NC. Monday-Friday 8:00am-6:00pm.
The ideal candidate will have:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with studio lighting in a production or theater setting
• Work experience related to a lighting console and mapping lights a plus
• Basic understanding of electrical infrastructure related to lighting
• Comfort in operating a scissor lift or ladder at heights up to 18 feet
• Ability to lift 30-40lbs
Pay rate: $25.00/hr Depending on Experience
