About the Job
Our client is currently seeking a Lighting Design Analyst.
Summary:
- This person will be responsible for daily tasks of engineering, designing, and estimating outdoor lighting systems according to NESC specifications. The successful candidate must be able to manage several projects at the same time, to include residential, commercial, and industrial outdoor lighting customers.
- The candidate must be able to create/close out engineered job packages, stake job sites, communicate effectively with internal and external customers all in a timely manner. The candidate will assist with scheduling meetings in order to insure all committed service dates are met.
- This individual must also be able to use/learn technical applications (such as: JETS, Socket, GIS/Designer, and Distview) for engineering, designing and estimating jobs.
- Engineer and Prepare job packages in a timely manner to satisfy customer's commitment date.
- Estimate job cost, order material, and bill the customer using JETS and/or GIS/Designer.
- Verify voltage drop, ampere rating of wire and fuse sizes.
- Obtain all necessary required permits for projects (DOT, Storm Water, etc.).
- Visit job sites to determine if any dangerous/hazardous conditions exist before any work installation begins and share this information with construction team.
- Stake job sites for accurate installation of conductor and poles.
- Make sure each project is completed by promised commitment date.
- Verify all construction unit sheets are correct upon completion of project and reconcile all material, labor, and any other necessary charges associated with job.
- Close jobs in a timely manner to meet monthly compliance requirements.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship with internal team (sales rep, coordinator, billing, leadership team).
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or 3 plus years of similar job experience
- 3 plus years working in one of these areas: Distribution Engineering, Lighting design at a design firm, or Make Ready Engineering
- Effective Written and Verbal Communicator to interact with the sales and construction teams
- Ability to learn Estimating and Design softwares necessary for the role
- Knowledge of NESC underground and overhead construction practices
- Any experience with Distribution Engineering is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of distribution software such as JETS, Socket, Distview, GIS
- Knowledge of electrical operations, distribution systems, underground and overhead construction practices
Pay Rate:
- $35.00 40.50/hr
