Light Duty Mechanic - Suit-Kote Corporation

Overview: Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for qualified auto mechanics.

Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.

Responsibilities/Job Duties:

• Diagnose and repair electrical systems and hydraulics on trucks and trailers
• Follow paper-flow procedures, including documenting correct mileage/hours and safety procedures.
• Routine maintenance such as: changing oil, checking batteries, safety inspections, brake repairs, and lubricating equipment.
• Examine vehicles to determine if additional safety or repair work is needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Willingness to obtain company provided forklift training
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Strong work ethic
• Minimum of 2 years experience in industry

• Physical Organization and time management
• Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary

• Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
• Consent to a DMV license evaluation
• Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements

• Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
• Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Other Preferred Qualities:

• Ability to read and understand SDS
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
• High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree is preferred
• Basic math skills

Salary Range: $20.00-28.00/hour
