About the Job
The Matian Firm in Los Angeles is looking to add a Liens Reduction to our Personal Injury Department. Liens Reduction assist in the final stages of case closure and maintain correspondence between legal staff and clients. Liens Reductors are responsible for reducing medical bills and delegating with healthcare providers and insurance carriers. They play a pivotal role in the client experience. They should be familiar with the liens process, current negotiating practices, and be detail oriented.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble, organize, and itemize client medical bills.
- Submit and obtain liens from: Medi-Cal, Medicare, Kaiser (The Rawlings Company), etc.
- Negotiate med pay reimbursement claims/waivers as well as sub-out attorney liens
- Draft Lien Reduction acceptance letters
- Ability to identify liens from emergency medical treatment, hospitals, ambulances, collection agencies, chiropractors, and medical doctors
- Correspond with clients and creditors over the phone and through email
- Work both independently and as a member of a team
- Assist with documenting expenses on cases
Required Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of legal experience, specifically in Personal Injury
- 1+ years of experience using Microsoft Excel, edit, sort/filter and save spreadsheets (can maintain complex spreadsheets).
- 1+ years of office experience
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Experience with Case Management Software
Pay Range: $20-$25/hr
Pay range subject to change on a case-by-case basis based on experience
