Tryfacta is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurses for our clients in Santee, CA 92071 . This role is an 3 -mont h to long term contract assignment.
Schedule: Per Diem Role with the following Shifts:
7:00AM - 3:30PM
3:00PM - 11:00 PM
11:30PM - 7:00AM

Job Description
Under supervision of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN's) provide nursing care for patients in a skilled nursing facility, and to perform related work.

Essential Functions:
- Administers oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous medications.
- Provides treatments including dressings, catheterization, irrigations, and enemas.
- Observes patients' symptoms, behavior, and progress, and keeps clinical records.
- Assists physicians and registered nurses as directed.
- Takes temperature, pulse rate, respiration rate, and blood pressure.
- May perform venipuncture if certified.
- Assists in preparing and implementing individual patient care plans which may involve transcribing and carrying out doctors' orders.
- Participates in team conferences regarding patient care and medical updates.
- Assists charge nurse in laboratory procedures.
- Assists in patient education and rehabilitation.
- Maintains cleanliness of patient-care areas.
- Lifts and assists with lifting patients.
- Maintains appropriate supply of medical items.
- May assist patients in the discharge process.
- In a mental health setting, the LVN may be involved in one-on-one and group counseling.
- Prepares the Medical Administration Records (MAR) appropriately and completely, following procedure.
- Refers patients to social welfare agencies.
- May occasionally supervise nurse assistants and mental health aides.
- Participates in community education programs.
- May apply constraints to contain patients.
- May drive a vehicle to take a patient to an appointment.
- May be responsible for follow-up of patient referrals and treatment recommendations.
- May be responsible for transporting clinic supplies to designated community clinics.
- Performs administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing and maintaining statistical logs for the unit.

Education and/or Experience
Must have at least one year of experience in long term care except for students who have completed their clinical at Edgemoor.
License and Certifications
- Current license to practice vocational nursing in the State of California.
- A current certification in accordance with the American Heart Association's Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers (CPR & AED) Program is required at the time of appointment.
- Physical Test Report
- PPD/Chest-Xray/TB Results
- Mandated Reporter Certificate before the start date
- Certification or completion of courses in Blood Withdrawal and/or IV Therapy is highly desirable.
- 3-4 employment references
Must do before starting the assignment:
- The Virtual training will be for 2 days and onsite training will be for 5 or more days and will include the followings.
- Candidate must complete a mandatory two (2) to three (3) hour orientation on site for facility specific fire and safety, software system and equipment usage
- Orientation/required trainings such as Title 22, CFR 42, OSHA and other promulgated regulations about staff in nursing homes shall be completed prior to start of employment. Examples of trainings include Department of Justice and Elder Justice Act mandated reporter of abuse training, OSHA required training on airborne transmissible diseases (ATD) transmission, workplace violence (labor code 6401.8) and blood borne pathogens, dementia related training, workplace hazards, privacy, infection control and others (Training module will be provided by us)
- All temporary professional staff must complete a mandatory general training provided by the County onsite via CD, handouts and pass a quiz before beginning work.
