About the Job
We are a Fresno County Provider of Specialty Mental Health Services (SMHS) for youth and nonminor dependents living in our Short-Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP) facilities. We seek a full-time and several part-time licensed clinicians to supervise and oversee the MHP staff and clinical operations for our STRTP facilities. The full-time clinician is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Quality's Mental Health Program (MHP) in partnership with two other clinical supervisors and a permanent staff of 12 - 15 licensed, credentialed, registered, or waivered mental health professionals. On average, the MHP staff is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized treatment plans for each foster youth in placement for approximately three to six months. The licensed clinicians are responsible for ensuring all Specialty Mental Health Services are conducted in accordance with Quality's policies and procedures and meet all applicable licensing, regulatory, and accreditation standards required.
These positions will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will work collaboratively on a supervisory team to guide, train, and support the MHP staff. In addition, you will work collaboratively with Qualiy's Quality Assurance Program (QA) Director to ensure SMHS are provided in compliance with all applicable guidelines.
What You Will Do:
- Plan, assign, supervise, and review the work of MHP staff at their facility and remotely.
- Assist in the selection, training, and performance evaluation of MHP staff at their facility and remotely.
- Ensure the continuity of care, services, and treatment of persons served comply with all agency protocols and applicable laws and regulations.
- Using the Fresno County electronic medical records system, SmartCare, review and co-sign the unlicensed, waivered, or registered MHP staff's progress notes within 72 hours.
- Ensure all required STRTP clinical documentation, including Medi-Cal billing information, is accurate and completed within the required timeframes.
- Provide MHP staff, individual and group supervision, and maintain supervision logs and notes as required.
- Ensure internal audits or peer reviews are completed on selected client records and that the assigned clinician reviews discharged clients' records before archiving.
- Participate as a backup in the "on-call" duty schedule by providing crisis intervention support to clients and MHP staff, as needed.
- Attend virtual and face-to-face meetings to collaborate with other Quality Program Directors, STRTP Facility Administrators, clients' parents/guardians, county personnel, etc., to ensure each client's treatment program meets their short-term SMHS needs.
- Identify and facilitate training to address the MHP staff's professional development needs and implement protocols to encourage retention and well-being.
- Provide guidance to the Quality Assurance Director on the types of MHP performance measures and outcomes and assist with the analysis of data for the quarterly and annual reports.
- Other duties assigned, as needed, verbally or in writing.
What You Will Bring:
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience and the following credentials/skills:
- A Master's Degree or above
- Must maintain professional licensure (e.g., LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, Licensed Psychologist) and be able to be credentialed to provide Specialty Mental Health Services in Fresno County
- All appropriate background, criminal record, and health clearances
- Able to comply with agency coronavirus and other health protocols
- Valid driver's license
- Experience working with adolescents and/or nonminor dependents in crisis
- Must be capable of bending, stooping, filing, and lifting of at least 25 pounds and able to interrupt physical altercations.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week with the possibility of a varied work schedule when needed
- Demonstrated experience working with culturally and racially diverse staff and youth.
- Proficient in using computers in a Windows environment, using the Internet, and using MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Strong supervisory, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Proven experience in developing trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive clinical treatment for adolescents and nonminor dependents.
- Working knowledge of various Evidenced-Based Practices for treatment plan development and implementation, including preparing and billing for progress notes and other related documentation.
- Experience developing and/or maintaining accreditation requirements.
- Experience supervising MHP staff and/or working in a STRTP environment is preferred.
