About the Job
We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist - Focused Therapy Specialist - Fremont - 32 hours dedicated and compassionate psychologist to provide comprehensive mental health services, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and crisis intervention, for adult and/or child members presenting with diverse psychiatric needs. The psychologist collaborates with physicians, psychiatrists, and allied health professionals to design and implement individualized treatment programs.

Essential Responsibilities
- Clinical Assessment & Treatment:
- Develop, implement, coordinate, and evaluate treatment programs for members with acute or chronic mental health conditions.
- Provide outpatient psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, and groups.
- Conduct psychological assessments, including test administration, interpretation, and recommendations.
- Prepare and maintain detailed intake summaries, treatment plans, and confidential records in compliance with state and NCQA regulations.
- Patient & Family Support:
- Counsel patients and their families on therapeutic regimens and medication adherence.
- Provide psychoeducational classes and groups as needed.
- Offer family support by explaining treatment plans and teaching interventions to improve treatment acceptance and adherence.
- Collaboration & Consultation:
- Work with physicians to screen and evaluate patients for psychotropic medications within the scope of practice.
- Consult with care providers and health educators on mental health and behavioral medicine issues.
- Utilize public and private resources to address member treatment needs, including referrals to external resources when appropriate.
- Supervision & Training:
- Supervise and mentor psychology interns, postdoctoral residents, and other mental health trainees.
- Provide oversight to Post Masters Fellows, Associate Clinical Social Workers, Associate Marriage and Family Therapists, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselors if qualified.
- Program Development & Compliance:
- Participate in departmental program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Report safety concerns to mandated reporting agencies.
- Ensure adherence to APA standards, state regulations, and patient rights policies.
- Crisis Intervention & On-Call Duties:
- Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
- Participate in the departments on-call rotation if required.
Qualifications
Education:
- PhD, PsyD, or EdD in Clinical, Counseling, Health, or School Psychology from an accredited institution.
Licensure & Certification:
- Licensed Psychologist in California (required within six months of hire).
- National Provider Identifier (NPI) required at the time of hire.
Additional Requirements:
- Familiarity with DSM-V for accurate diagnosis.
- Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a broad spectrum of psychiatric conditions.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices, psychotherapy methods, and psychological testing techniques.
- Proficiency in individual, family, and group psychotherapy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to quality care, teamwork, and ethical integrity.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and objectives efficiently.
- Knowledge of bio-psycho-social functions contributing to mental health.
- If not licensed in California at the time of hire, must hold licensure in another U.S. state and meet Californias temporary practice requirements under Business and Professional Code Section 2946.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in crisis intervention and psychological evaluations of adults, children, and families.
- Familiarity with administering and interpreting psychological assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to create effective treatment plans with high accuracy.
- Proven commitment to quality care and multidisciplinary teamwork.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a timely and effective manner.
