Day Neuro
Hours vary: Monday to Friday / 8am to 5pm
PRN (as needed)
2-3 days per week
PRN Rate: $40
PRN Counselor (LPC/LCSW) needed to work as a part of our rehabilitation team in our Outpatient Day Neuro program. This program is focusing on working with patients post neurological injury including BI, SCI, CVA with an emphasis on return to work/school or community activities. Counseling duties include: admission and evaluation of new patients, attending team and family conferences, Individual and Group Counseling sessions with patients and families. Leading a group to educate on mental health, wellness, overcoming obstacles and personal challenges as well as focusing on career goals. Looking for an energetic and motivated Counselor who wants to part of our day neuro rehab team. Our hospital is located in Lakeway Texas in the scenic hill country on the southern shores of Lake Travis. Lakeway is a resort community about 25 miles west of downtown Austin.
Responsibilities:
Licensed Professional Counselor demonstrates the basic knowledge of Neuro diagnoses to be treated in the Day Neuro Program. Therapist plans and performs treatment and intervention techniques which are consistent with patient needs. This includes individual, family and couples, and group intervention as it relates to adjustment to disability, behavioral management and cognitive deficits. Treats patients at appropriate intensity. Utilizes age and developmental appropriate activities and techniques based on the established BSWIR age categories. Therapist is also able to modify and advance therapy based on patient response.
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience
- Master’s degree appropriate to position.
- Licensed Professional Counselor or Licensed Clinical Social Worker
- Certified BLS completion required; for new hires, see CPR Requirement Guidelines for New Hires.
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
- Abilities to learn and teach psychological measures, observe confidentiality and standardization, and demonstrate accuracy, reliability and organizational skill.
