Athena Health Care Systems is hiring a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator to join our dynamic care team at Northbridge Health Care Center in Bridgeport!
Northbridge is a 145-bed skilled nursing facility offering short-term rehab and long-term care. Located across the street from St. Vincent's Hospital.

As the Administrator, you direct the day-to-day functions of the facility to assure that the highest degree of quality care and services are provided to our residents at all times.
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s Degree is necessary.
- A degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration, or a health related degree is preferred but not required.
- Must possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator’s license or meets the licensure requirements of this State.
- Must possess a working knowledge of long-term care operational standards set forth in Federal and State regulations.
- Prior long-term care administration training and experience preferred as a licensed nursing home administrator.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Oversee, direct and enforce the regulatory compliance of applicable local, state federal and town regulations to meet and/or exceed quality of care and services.
- Enforce quality of care, quality of life, standards of practice, QI/QM to ensure positive resident outcomes.
- Conduct Rounds throughout facility.
- Enforce Privacy Practices to ensure protection of individuals’ health information.
- Report the needs of the facility to the Governing Body and Director of Operations as appropriate.
- Oversees all aspects of personnel administration.
- Ongoing recruitment and retention of qualified personnel.
- Develop and maintain positive public relations and effective marketing.
- Assure that resident’s personal and property rights are protected as well as their safety and well-being.
- Uphold and monitor daily staffing patterns to meet the needs of the residents.Staffing adjustments made as needed.
- Quality Assurance through regular mandated meetings, audits, rounds reviews, and resident, family & staff interviews.
- Contribute to effective communication and pleasant working conditions.
- Contribute to and promote resident and family relations.
- Follow policies and procedures and professional standards of practice as well as Athena’s management mandated reporting for continuous oversight.
Specific Requirements:
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills and independent decisions making skills.
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Must have training in long-term care administration and professional license.
- Must possess strong management and financial operations of the facility along with knowledge of reimbursement regulations and nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long-term care administration.
- Must develop and maintain positive public relations/marketing plan.
- Must ensure a safe and sanitary physical environment and implement a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance and Safety Program.
- Ensure the provision of safety/supplies.
- Ongoing effective written and verbal communication.
- Uphold professional demeanor at all times.
- Must be on call 24 hours/7 days a week, via cell phone, beeper with emergency response to the facility as needed.
- Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with the interdisciplinary team and medical staff adequately and supervise professional and non-professional personnel, including APRN & Consultants.
