Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
Job Summary:
We seek a compassionate and skilled Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Master's Degree to provide mental health counseling services. The LMHC will assess, diagnose, and treat individuals, families, and groups facing emotional and psychological challenges. The ideal candidate will employ evidence-based therapeutic practices and collaborate with clients to create personalized treatment plans that support their emotional well-being.
Core Responsibilities:
Assessment and Diagnosis:
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through interviews and standardized tools.
- Diagnose mental health conditions using the DSM-5 or relevant frameworks.
Treatment Planning and Therapy:
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to clients' needs.
- Provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as CBT and DBT.
- Facilitate individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
Client Advocacy and Support:
- Teach clients coping strategies and problem-solving techniques.
- Advocate for clients' needs with other providers and community resources.
Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state licensing requirements.
Collaboration and Consultation:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and case managers for holistic care.
- Refer clients to specialists or community resources as needed.
Professional Development:
- Stay up-to-date with the latest best practices and licensure requirements to excel in your field. Make the most of supervision and team meetings to sharpen your clinical skills and foster collaboration!
Education:
- Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.Licensure:
- Active and unrestricted LMHC license in the state of practice.
Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of clinical experience in mental health counseling.
Skills and Competencies:
- Deep understanding of mental health disorders and therapeutic approaches. Excellent communication and empathetic skills. Ability to build trust with diverse populations. Familiarity with telehealth and electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in specialized therapeutic techniques. Experience working with specific populations, such as geriatric, children, veterans, suicide, and LGBTQ+ clients. Multilingual abilities are a plus.
