About the Job
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The successful candidate administers professional massage and body treatments to our guests. They must have a thorough knowledge of numerous massage modalities possess a general understanding of body treatments and be willing to train in our spa's specific massage and body treatment offerings. They must possess excellent communication skills and be able to learn the product and service knowledge necessary to effectively provide wellness solutions to meet the needs of our guests.
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
* Follow all Spa timeliness standards, to include arriving at least one-half hour prior to the start of each appointment
* Greet and complete established procedures for arriving guests by beginning on time for the appointment and completing within the allotted time
* Provide consistent professional body treatments in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices
* Properly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product to assist with cost controls
* Complete end of shift inventory on your cart/area and restock all necessary products; notify management of low stock items
* Have complete knowledge and understanding of all services and products while educating and training guests in these areas
* Actively promote home care programs, meeting minimum retail sales goals
* Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa's policies and procedures
* Perform prep work and properly clean and restock room as required
* Communicate to management all occurrences involving staff or guests in the spa that require attention
* Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate
* Actively promote the spa, treatments, services, sessions and retail, as well as programs, promotions and/or discounts available
* Handle guests' questions and concerns professionally and courteously
* Provide accurate, appropriate and immediate responses to all requests by guests, ensuring complete guest satisfaction
* Work efficiently and effectively without direct supervision
* Attend, participate in and support training and staff meetings for the spa
* Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly service-oriented manner
* Follow all safety and security regulations
* Maintain the confidentiality of the Hotel, Spa and its guests
* Contribute to team/company engagement efforts
* Perform other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
* Must be able to stand for 8 hours at a time
* Ability to remain calm and polite in stressful situations
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Schedule flexibility to include working evenings and weekends
* Compute basic arithmetic and mathematical calculations
* Organized and detail oriented
* Excellent time management skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Ability to work effectively in stressful, high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and guest satisfaction
* 1 year previous Spa experience; preferred in a hotel or related environment
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Must hold and maintain a MD state massage therapist license and required insurance
