Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Telehealth Counselor to provide exceptional counseling and therapy services to both pediatric and adult clients. This role involves supporting individuals with various mental health challenges, including thoughts of suicide, addictions, family and marital issues, stress management, self-esteem problems, and more. In addition to direct client care, the Counselor will provide supervision and consultation to master's level and associate level counselors and act as a leader within the counseling team.
Location: Remote (with occasional in-person supervision meetings, no more than once per quarter)
State Requirement: Must reside and be licensed in the state of Arizona.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct client intake and assessment, facilitate child/family team (CFT) meetings, and coordinate discharge planning.
Provide individual and group therapy to help clients overcome dependencies, adjust to life changes, and achieve personal goals.
Utilize solution and strengths-based interventions to support clients and their families.
Address ongoing client and family needs using best clinical practices and engage in resource coordination for transition, discharge, and aftercare plans.
Prepare and maintain detailed reports, including incident and performance audits, ensuring compliance and clinical oversight in coordination with other agencies.
Guide clients in developing strategies to manage their issues, encouraging self-expression and insight development.
Collect client information through interviews, observations, and tests, and maintain accurate treatment records.
Document and submit routine paperwork such as progress notes, treatment plans, and incident reports.
Evaluate clients' mental and physical conditions, develop and implement treatment plans, and act as a client advocate in crisis situations.
Supervise and provide clinical oversight to master's level and associate counselors, ensuring documentation requirements are met.
Review, approve, and co-sign new assessments and treatment plans.
Skills and Abilities:
In-depth knowledge of human behavior, mental health, and performance, including individual differences, motivation, and psychological research methods.
Expertise in diagnosis, treatment, and psychological rehabilitation for mental health or behavioral disorders.
Understanding of group dynamics, societal trends, cultural influences, and historical contexts.
Strong technology skills to effectively support Telehealth practices.
Education and Experience:
Master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
Licensed by the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a social worker (LCSW preferred), professional counselor (LPC), or marriage and family therapist (LMFT).
Experience working with a diverse range of clients, including children, teens, adults, couples, and families.
Proven experience providing clinical services remotely.
Experience supervising other counselors and clinicians.
Familiarity with Telehealth models and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Work Schedule:
Full-time, 40 hours per week.
Flexible scheduling.
Preferred availability during later afternoons/evenings (between 3-7 pm).
