Licensed Mental Health Therapist - Child Team IOP

Location: Fremont, CA

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our partner hospital's Child Team Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Fremont, CA. This role offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of children and adolescents facing mental health challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, diagnose psychiatric conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans for children and adolescents.
• Therapy and Intervention: Provide individual, group, and family therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices to address a broad range of mental health needs.
• Crisis Intervention: Offer crisis intervention services to stabilize acute situations and ensure patient safety.
• Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the treating physician, psychiatric team, and allied health professionals to plan and direct each patient's treatment program.
• Education and Counseling: Educate and counsel patients and families on treatment plans, medication adherence, and coping strategies.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with state and NCQA regulations.
• Program Development: Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental programs.
• On-Call Rotation: May be required to participate in the department's on-call rotation.

Qualifications:

• Must-Haves:
  • Active California license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • Eligibility to see Medicare patients.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents.
  • Availability to work onsite 2 days a week.
• Nice-to-Haves:
  • Several years of post-licensure experience.
  • Experience working in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) setting.

Education:

• Master's degree in Social Work, Social Welfare (clinical track), Clinical or Counseling Psychology, or a related field from an accredited college or university.

Additional Requirements:

• Familiarity with DSM-V for diagnostic purposes.
• Experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of psychiatric conditions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of social service agencies, state regulations, and professional board standards.
• Knowledge of Evidence-Based Practice and psychotherapy research methods.
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and objectives in a timely manner.
