The Schizophrenia and Psychosis Action Alliance (S&PAA) is a 501(c)3 national nonprofit organization that is driving systemic change to improve care, support and equity for the millions of people living with schizophrenia and psychosis spectrum disorders. •One coordinated system of care - with the right experts - that addresses all aspects of the disease.
•Public understanding that schizophrenia is a no-fault brain disease that can be successfully treated.
•New and more effective treatments without the debilitating side effects of current therapies.
Summary: We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team, part-time, twenty (20) hour per week, as a Support and Resource Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mental health support and crisis intervention, as well as experience in training and developing procedures for support services. This role involves a blend of direct service and program development, including skills building for support groups, creating standard operating procedures for a helpline, developing emergency protocols, training support group leaders, and providing guidance and support to support group facilitators. This position is fully remote and will report directly to Director of Community Engagement.
Primary Responsibilities are varied, but include:
1.Development of Helpline Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs):
a.Collaborate with helpline staff/contractors and other stakeholders to create comprehensive SOPs that ensure consistency, quality, and compliance in helpline operations.
b.Train helpline staff/contractors on the SOPs to ensure understanding and proper implementation.
c.Regularly review and update SOPs to reflect best practices and new developments in the field.
2.Creation of Emergency Protocols for Helpline and Support Groups:
a.Develop detailed emergency protocols for the helpline and support groups to effectively manage crises, including but not limited to mental health emergencies, risk of harm, and other urgent situations.
b.Work closely with legal and clinical experts to ensure that protocols are ethically sound and legally compliant.
c.Provide training to helpline staff/contractors and support group volunteers on emergency protocols and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
3.Training Support Group Leaders:
a.Design and conduct training programs for new and existing support group leaders to enhance their skills in group facilitation, conflict resolution, and empathetic listening.
b.Develop training materials, including manuals, guides, and multimedia resources, to support ongoing leader development.
c.Assess the training needs of support group leaders regularly and adapt programs to address gaps and emerging challenges.
4.Support for Support Group Facilitators:
a.Offer ongoing support and supervision to support group facilitators to address any challenges and improve group dynamics.
b.Develop and facilitate regular training sessions for facilitators on topics such as group management, dealing with difficult situations, and self-care.
c.Create a feedback loop with facilitators to continuously improve the support group experience for participants.
5.Skills Building for Support Groups:
a.Develop and implement skills-building workshops and sessions for support group participants, focusing on coping strategies, emotional regulation, and communication skills.
b.Provide training and resources to support group facilitators to enhance their ability to lead effective and supportive group sessions.
c.Evaluate the effectiveness of skills-building initiatives and adjust programs as needed to meet the evolving needs of participants.
6.Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
•Current Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license
•3 - 5 years' experience in mental health services, preferably in a nonprofit or community-based setting.

Salary Range: Annual base salary is commensurate with experience; the range established for this role is $40,000 - 52,000 for this part-time role.
