Actual compensation will depend on several factors, including the candidate's relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Level 2 Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both wired and wireless network environments, with a strong focus on hands-on tasks and technical expertise. The role involves working with various network technologies and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute wireless surveys using Ekahau tools, including passive and APOS surveys, to ensure optimal wireless coverage and performance. This involves conducting comprehensive site surveys to assess wireless signal strength, interference, and coverage areas.
- Conduct LAN surveys, including visual inspections and occasional cable tracing, and document findings with photos and detailed reports. This includes identifying potential issues and recommending improvements to enhance network performance and reliability.
- Perform rack and stack, patching, and cabling tasks, including working with copper, fiber (single and multi-mode), and SFPs. This includes conducting thorough site surveys to assess the physical layout and infrastructure requirements for network installations.
- Provide remote access solutions, upgrade IOS versions, and apply network configurations for devices such as Cisco, Aruba, and Palo Alto. This involves performing detailed site surveys to ensure compatibility and optimal placement of network devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with client IT teams to implement network changes and upgrades.
- Maintain and update network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Assist in the design and implementation of network projects and initiatives.
- Ability to travel 50-75% required. Must live near major airport.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements in network technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on both wired and wireless networks.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, and switching.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are preferred.
