About the Job
Key Objectives:
- Creates, organizes, and delivers all Resort events on time and on budget.
- Work as an Event Producer as assigned.
- Create Events Decks and contribute to the creation of the Event.
- Ensures that all Resort events are delivered flawlessly, with clear and concise
communication in advance of events. - Works closely with sales and marketing, and third parties to deliver world-class events.
- Work with PR and marketing team to coordinate PR Media events and activations.
- Provide comprehensive coordination and management oversight of resort event
operations. - Act as lead for event load-in and out and day-of POC during resort events.
- Provides labor projections and analysis ensuring event department labor remains
within budget. - Manage vendor relations and negotiate best pricing.
- Update event SOP’s as needed and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to during
all events. - Ensure risk assessments are completed with each resort event, ensuring safety is a top
priority. - Maintains and updates inventory of all event supplies, assists with purchasing as
·needed. - Coordinates with city officials for permitting, event planning and communication.
- Support in event staff recruitment and training.
- Conduct event research on industry trends, supporting LEGOLAND California in
remaining fast-moving and innovative. - Ensure thorough Resort-wide communication on all Resort event logistics.
Serve as Department Duty Manager, if required.
Background and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of previous event experience required.
- Minimum of 3 years theme park experience.
- At least 1 year of Supervisory role/ leading employees.
- Must have excellent organizational, problem solving and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- English proficiency and competency to work with all vendors and team members
Education:
Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in events, marketing or hospitality preferred.
Other requirements:
Must be willing to work Holidays, early mornings, late evenings, and weekends while events are active. and to meet the Business needs. At least 1 weekend day to be worked on the regular schedule
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, squatting, kneeling, sitting and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping and climbing ladders. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 10 lbs. and up to 75 lbs. in some departments. Work typically performed indoors and sometimes outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
