About the Job
Our St. Louis office is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to support our expanding legal practice. This role involves working closely with attorneys and paralegals to provide high-quality legal services to clients. The position requires performing complex administrative and secretarial tasks in a collaborative and team-oriented environment. The Legal Secretary will primarily support multiple attorneys and provide back-up assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional administrative support to attorneys to meet client deliverables.
- Prepare client intake forms, initiate conflict checks, draft engagement letters, and open new files.
- Create, edit, and proofread legal documents, including court filings, discovery documents, and correspondence.
- Organize and prepare case materials and exhibits for e-filing with courts and agencies.
- Manage attorney calendars and workloads, ensuring deadlines and client needs are met.
- Assist with billing processes, including proforma review and resolution of billing issues.
- Maintain electronic files using a document management system.
- Coordinate travel, meetings, and presentations; manage expenses and attorney CLE reporting.
- Support attorneys with business development and marketing activities.
Requirements:
- Employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have an approved medical or religious accommodation, as required by law.
- 4+ years of experience as a legal secretary, preferably in labor/employment litigation.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and processes.
- Federal and state court experience, including electronic court filing (ECF).
- Typing speed of at least 70 words per minute.
- Proficiency in MS Office, document management systems, and legal database software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or as part of a team.
- Marketing or event coordination experience is a plus.
