We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Legal Secretary to join our fast-paced legal team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be an integral part of our legal department, providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to our attorneys. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of tasks and projects in a highly collaborative, high-volume environment. They will be expected to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
Responsibilities:
1. Providing comprehensive administrative support to attorneys including scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and coordinating travel arrangements.
2. Preparing and editing legal documents and correspondence including pleadings, briefs, and motions.
3. Utilizing e-filing systems to electronically file documents in federal and state courts.
4. Assisting with trial preparation including organizing exhibits, witness materials, and trial notebooks.
5. Coordinating and managing attorney billing and expense reports.
6. Maintaining an organized and up-to-date filing system for all case documents.
7. Liaising with clients, court personnel, and other legal professionals in a professional and courteous manner.
8. Conducting legal research as directed by attorneys.
9. Assisting with special projects and performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5+ years of experience as a Legal Secretary in a law firm or corporate legal department.
2. Proficiency in e-filing systems and preparing pleadings is required.
3. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
4. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and legal research software.
7. A high degree of professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
8. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
9. A paralegal certificate or equivalent is a plus.
