A respected and community-focused law firm in Naperville, IL, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join our team. We offer legal services in real estate transactions, land development, litigation, estate planning and a variety of other services tailored to our clients' needs.
Position Overview:
As a Legal Secretary, you will play a vital role in supporting our attorneys and ensuring the seamless operation of our practice. This role requires an individual who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in legal support tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Word Processing
- Draft, edit, and finalize legal documents and correspondence with precision.
- Scheduling
- Maintain attorney calendars, coordinate appointments, and manage deadlines.
- Document Preparation
- Prepare and file legal documents, ensuring compliance with court and regulatory standards.
- Real Estate Transactions
- Assist with preparing closing documents, contracts, and reviewing title documents.
- Litigation Support
- Handle pleadings, discovery documents, and case management tasks.
- Land Development Support
- Prepare land use applications for municipalities and other governmental agencies, prepare public notices, and track approval process.
- Smokeball
- Use of Smokeball practice management software for document preparation, billing, case tracking and task organization.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a legal secretary or paralegal role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with Smokeball or similar legal software is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of real estate and litigation processes is essential.
- Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
