Legal Secretary - Family Law - Gpac

An award-winning full-service Michigan law firm is seeking a legal assistant/secretary to assist their busy Family Law practice group. We are searching for a motivated litigation assistant with experience assisting multiple attorneys and staff in a law firm setting. Responsibilities include preparing and filing legal documents, managing case files, scheduling appointments and court dates, coordinating and communication with clients, attorneys, and court personnel, and performing general office tasks. 

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience as a legal secretary/assistant in a law office setting 
• Experience editing, preparing, and filing of Court documents, including e-filing, telephone scheduling, machine transcription, and time entry
• Edit and file various legal documents such as appeals, motions or petitions
• Associate's or bachelor's degree is preferred 
• Knowledge of legal terminology, regulations, and court system
• Knowledge of MS Office and ability to work with legal technology (court-filing computer systems, transcription software, etc.)
• Ability to prioritize and organize work flow in a team environment
