Superior Court of California, County of Monterey is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Court Clerk II. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is excited about starting a career in the justice system and serving the public by providing excellent and professional customer service. The recruitment examination process may consist of the following:

Under general supervision, a Deputy Court Clerk II learns and performs a wide variety of legal processing and other clerical duties in support of court operations and other related work as required, such as customer service at public counters, document processing and office support duties. This position is expected to learn and implement court procedures, practices and legal terminology. A Deputy Court Clerk II is expected to complete a nine (9) month probationary period. The Deputy Court Clerk II position is fully qualified and competent to perform the full scope of complex and detailed document processing, counter, and office support duties. The Deputy Court Clerk II is distinguished from the Deputy Court Clerk III, which functions as a lead worker, and/or handles the more complex court clerical functions.
