Legal Document Processing Specialist:
Inceed has partnered with a great company to help find a skilled Legal Document Processor to join their team!
Our client is a prominent global law firm and they are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Legal Document Processor to join their team in downtown Houston! The Legal Document Processor will play a crucial role in supporting their legal professionals by preparing and formatting legal documents, correspondence, and other materials with accuracy and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, contracts, memos, and correspondence.
Convert documents from various file formats to meet firm standards.
Ensure consistency and adherence to formatting guidelines, including font styles, margins, spacing, and numbering.
Collaborate with attorneys and legal assistants to prioritize document requests and meet deadlines.
Edit and revise documents as requested, incorporating changes and updates accurately.
Assist with document production for court filings, hearings, and other legal proceedings.
Maintain electronic and physical filing systems to organize and manage documents efficiently.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for word processing software and related tools.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to data security policies.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelors Degree is preferred.
5+ years of proven experience as a word processor in a law firm or engineering background is required.
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Strong typing and formatting skills with a high level of accuracy.
Must be able to type at least 60 words per minute.
Ability to edit PDF documents is required (Acrobat, Nuance, etc).
Experience with document management systems or legal software is required (iManage File Site, Work 10, etc).
Excellent grammar, spelling, and proofreading abilities.
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of legal terminology and document formats preferred.
Other Information:
Monday through Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with additional weekday hours as needed
Weekend hours assigned on a rotational schedule every 3 weeks.
