Introduction:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Legal Compliance Specialist to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial for ensuring the rigorous adherence to compliance standards within the property and casualty insurance sector. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the company's compliance program, facilitating the training and monitoring of compliance controls, and conducting compliance audits. This position offers a significant opportunity to contribute to a culture of compliance and integrity within a leading insurance organization.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and support an enterprise-wide compliance strategy.
- Assist in the implementation of compliance training, awareness, monitoring, and testing initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure all elements of the business align with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal compliance audits and coordinate with external agencies as necessary.
- Engage in the maintenance and enhancement of the compliance program, including policy and procedure documentation.
- Take part in investigations of any alleged regulatory violations and help devise preventative measures.
- Analyze audit results to identify and implement improvements.
- Manage compliance-related administrative tasks, including reporting and form filings across multiple states.
- Liaise with other departments to integrate new legal and regulatory requirements seamlessly.
- Handle and resolve customer complaints effectively and efficiently.
- Report on compliance status and issues regularly, tailoring the frequency to departmental needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
- At least 4 years of experience in insurance compliance, or 5 years in underwriting or claims related to property and casualty insurance.
- Proven expertise in property & casualty insurance compliance, insurance pricing, risk selection, and claims handling.
