Our busy law office is looking for a Legal Assistant to assist in managing all aspects of workers' compensation case files. Ideal job seekers will be incredibly organized, able to multi-task, and have strong communication skills, in addition to having experience drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and being knowledgeable in workers' compensation claims. Please apply today!Compensation: $20 - $25Responsibilities:- Assist with all aspects of Workers' Compensation case management, including working up discovery, legal correspondence, reviewing records, and communicating with all parties- Organize and maintain all case files, whether electronic or paper, in accordance with the law firm's policies- Conduct legal research to draft pleadings/documents for attorney review- Review legal documents to ensure adherence to all legal requirements- Process IMR Applications- Order/ Subpoena/ Obtain records- Schedule medical appointments- Reviewing for relevance and organizing medical records- Communicate case status with clients and outside counsel as requested- Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issuesQualifications:- 2-year degree and/or Paralegal certification are required- 2 years of workers' compensation case management process experience is preferred - preferably as a case manager, or related jobs such as paralegal, legal secretary, or legal assistant at a law firm- Experience in drafting legal documents and conducting legal research is vital- Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet presentation, and case management software if necessary- Must be a self-starter with the ability to effectively manage multiple matters at once and follow up as necessary with little oversight- Must possess exceptional organizational skills as well as effective communication skills, both written and oral- Full-time, in-office positionAbout CompanyJC Carter Law, APC is a personal injury and workers' compensation law firm that faithfully serves clients throughout California.
