Are you a self-motivated litigation paralegal or legal assistant looking for a growth opportunity? In this Litigation Legal Assistant role, the successful candidate will assist in administrative aspects of the firm’s active litigation practice. Responsibilities include:
- E-filing legal documents (state, federal and appellate courts)
- Calendaring dates and managing court reporter services for depositions
- Processing, compiling and maintaining medical authorizations
- Preparing draft correspondence to clients, counsel, courts, etc.
- Formatting briefs, pleadings and other legal documents
- Editing legal services invoices & processing expenses
- Making travel arrangements
- Answering phones & managing incoming mail
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of litigation experience
- Paralegal certificate preferred but not required
- General familiarity with state and federal court procedures
- Familiarity with preparing applications for admission to state and federal bars
- Experience maintaining calendars for a busy defense litigation practice
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Attention to detail & excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient typing skills
- Excellent time management & compliance with deadlines
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Collaborative mindset
- Availability & willingness to work overtime as needed (infrequent)
