Belkin Burden Goldman, LLP, a premier New York City real estate law firm, is seeking an experienced legal assistant to join its Transaction Real Estate Law department. The ideal candidate will have expertise in supporting attorneys with real estate proceedings, contracts, and transactions. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting with preparing and managing real estate contracts, due diligence review and preparation of memorandum, closing documents, and other transactional agreements.
- Supporting attorneys in real estate proceedings, such as co-op/condo board matters, lease negotiations, and title-related issues.
- Managing and maintaining transactional files, ensuring timely communication and organization.
- Providing administrative support for real estate closings, including scheduling, coordinating with all parties, and assembling closing binders.
- Efficiently manage large case load and adhere to deadlines.
- Communicating directly with clients to facilitate transactions and provide updates.
- Adhering to the firm’s policies and procedures.
- Performing other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- A minimum of two years’ experience in transactional real estate law support or equivalent field.
- Familiarity with co-op and condominium procedures, coop/condo due diligence, title and survey review, lease agreements, and real estate closings.
- Ability to communicate with clients and keep clients updated on cases.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage large case assignments.
- Computer savvy with excellent knowledge of all Microsoft applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and writing skills to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively.
The compensation will be dependent on several factors including but not limited to years of experience involving these roles and responsibilities, years of experience within the industry, education, etc.
